My 4 “Personal Action” Filters

You ready?!

Over the last couple of weeks, I broke down:

  • Exactly how I personally get out of overwhelm (here)
  • My 30-second trick for a super-productive day (here)
  • Why you NEED to plan ahead for the rest of 2020 (here)
  • The 5 Different Hybrid & Online Fitness Business Models (here)

Today, I wanted to share my PERSONAL ACTION FILTER for working on activities.

One of the things we’ve been working with our amazing Mavericks on is pinpointing their EXACT 5% of actions that’ll help them exponentially move the lever in their business.

Right now, with all of the new changes, added stress, and uncertainty, it has been ESPECIALLY hard to stay focused, and even figure out what you SHOULD be working on in your business.

I thought it would help if I pulled back the curtain and showed you exactly what I personally do to make sure I’m (almost) ALWAYS working on the right things at the right time.

First, before you use this filter, make sure you’ve got your game plan for the rest of 2020. If you’re not looking through your “goals-colored” lenses, you won’t be able to prioritize effectively!

These filters aren’t to help me FOCUS while I’m working, they’re to help me optimize what I should be working ON.

So let’s get started:

Filter #1: I ask myself: “Is this the highest and best use of my time?”

To get even more specific … do I LOVE doing this and/or will this action give me an exponential return on my time investment?

Imagine if you had a sticky note on your desk with that question, and EVERY time you took an action in your business, you asked yourself that question.

How many times would the answer be NO? How about you keep track and see what your ratio is 🙂

Filter #2: Does this REALLY even need to be done (or done this way) in the first place? (aka the elimination filter)

Am I doing something that’s contributing to my overall goals, or because “it just needs to get done” or because “I’ve always been doing it this way?” Find where you can trim the fat.

Filter #3: Who else can be doing this? And SHOULD someone else be doing this? (aka the delegation filter)

This is pretty straight forward, right? We do WAY too many things in our businesses that we (as the owner) should NOT be doing. If you want to take your business to the next level, you have to draw the line on what you spend your time on!

Filter #4: Can I leverage tech or automate it? (aka the automation filter)

There’s a TON of stuff in your business (that you’re probably doing manually) that you can automate through software like Zapier, a CRM, or a task management software like Asana (my personal favorite).

Now … knowing this and PUTTING IT INTO PRACTICE are two different things.

It’s like the clients that tell you they know that eating ice cream after dinner every night isn’t helping them to reach their goals, but they still do it anyway.

Most fit pros have some ground to make up in 2020 to hit their goals from earlier this year.

The only way that happens is if you have hyper-clear goals, a solid strategy, you KNOW what you should be spending your time on, and then you follow the plan (and adapt as needed as you go)!

But now that you have a better idea of what to prepare for (since we’re months into this pandemic), you’ve got no excuse NOT to plan (that’s the good news!).

More Good News: If you need help gaining true clarity, figuring out the best path and business model going forward, and seeing through all of the chaos …

That’s exactly why we created the Mavericks Mastermind!

Make it an amazing day,
