I hear it every single week:
“Alicia, I’m just not a tech person.”
“My leads all suck lately.”
“It’s faster just to do it myself.”
I’m going to be a little bit of a “business architect” today and tell you the truth:
Friction is a choice.
Most coaches aren’t truly “bad at tech.”
But because you haven’t learned how to do it yet, your brain perceives it as a much bigger challenge than it actually is.
We tend to prioritize the “way we’ve always done it” because it feels safe and easier at the time..
Even if it’s burning us out and causing constant frustration.
We subconsciously use these lies as a safety net.
If a lead falls through the cracks? “I just have too much on my plate.”
If you didn’t sign a client this week? “The leads were just low quality.”
It’s much easier to blame a “bad market” than it is to admit your follow-up is inconsistent.
But why do we do it?
Because your brain is trying to protect you.
It thinks: “If I’m already this exhausted with 10 clients, 50 clients will literally kill me.”
You view growth as a drain on your time, your energy, and your life…
So, you stay where you’re at to ensure that more growth never actually happens.
But if your systems actually worked…
If every lead was nurtured and every follow-up was seamless…
If client fulfillment didn’t require YOU to be there every step of the way…
Growth wouldn’t be a drain, it would be a source of freedom.
Stepping out of “organized chaos” does require a new level of confidence.
It means believing that you are actually ready for the success you say you want.
You don’t need to be a “tech person.”
You just need to stop choosing friction over freedom.
Just something to think about today!
Alicia
