Here’s what a solid retention rate is….

Since we had so many people asking for it over in our Fitness Freedom Business Formula Group, I thought it would just be easier if I shared it here. (You’ll see the link near the bottom of this post.)

But before I get to the calculator, I want to talk about a few reasons WHY your retention #’s are so important ….

… outside of the obvious fact that the longer your clients are with you, the GREATER the transformation they are going to achieve.

Check this out:

  • It costs 3 to 25 times more to get a brand new client than to keep one.
  • A simple 5% boost in your retention rate means an increase of profits of 25% or more because returning clients are more likely to buy more of your services.
  • Happy long-term clients are one of the best sources of new (low-cost) leads, through referrals.

Pretty important stuff.

So Alicia, what’s a good client retention rate?

Great question.

I like to aim for a minimum of 95% retention. Of course, this depends on your model, but for most of you reading this post, this is a solid number to aim for.

The crazy thing is that studies in the fitness industry show that number is MUCH lower, in the 60s. GASP!
