Ninja Productivity Part 2: You Need 4 Highlighters For This….

Hope you’re having a great week! Are you ready for the next part in our ninja productivity series?

Last week, I introduced the Time Tracker which teaches you exactly how to “audit your time” to find out EXACTLY where all of the minutes in your day are going.

You may think you know the answer to this…. but until you actually track it, you don’t really know for sure.

Ok- let’s move on to Part Two…

Once you’ve got some real, hard data on how you’re actually spending your time, it’s time to take a good look at it so you can make some decisions.

I want you to grab 4 different color highlighters. Pull out your completed time-trackers:

  1. Use a yellow highlighter and highlight all of the time you’re spending on “YOU.” (this would be personal workouts, meditation, meal prep, rest and recovery, etc.)
  2. Use a blue highlighter and highlight all of the time you’re spending with FRIENDS & FAMILY.
  3. Use a green highlighter and highlight all of the tasks / time that you’re working ON your business.
  4. Use a red highlighter and highlight all of the tasks / time that you’re working IN your business.Once you’ve gone through and highlighted everything, calculate how much time in a week you’re spending in each category.

Are you spending your time the way you really want to? Where do you need to make changes? What do you want to keep the same?

Do you need to spend more time with your family and friends? How about more time working ON your business? How much time are you wasting by allowing yourself to get distracted?

Take some time and really reflect on this. This can be a life-changing exercise if you take it seriously.

How you spend your time is how you spend your LIFE.

In Part 3 of our productivity series, I’m going to break down how to calculate what YOU ARE WORTH PER HOUR so that you can figure out exactly where to be spending more of your time, and what you need to be delegating more of in your business.

(Here’s where it starts to get good!!)

Once you know the answer to how much you’re really worth, we’ll go through and take a look at what you’ve got highlighted in red so we can find the best ways to delegate these tasks (and if it makes sense to.)

Then we can put an action plan in place to start moving the needle!

In the meantime, you don’t have to wait to start making changes.

If you notice that you’re not spending enough time with your family / friends, you are missing workouts, or other things that are important to you… make a change RIGHT NOW.

Set a HARD TIME STOP in your schedule, so no matter what happens, you’re done working for the day (or certain period of time). It’s time to make time for things that are truly important to you.

(And don’t forget that stopping work means mentally checking out and being PRESENT with the people around you. You deserve that, and they deserve your full attention.)

Running a business can take over our lives if we’re not careful.

If you’re not spending your time the way you want to, make a commitment RIGHT NOW to be intentional about your time, and don’t let your business take over your life.

Let’s take the right steps to make it happen!
