It happens to the best of us.
We swear we’re going to start emailing our list more often, and then… life happens.
Clients need our attention, other content takes priority, Netflix drops a new season of that show you like…
And suddenly it’s been weeks (maybe even months!) since you’ve sent your list a newsletter.
Step one: DON’T PANIC.
Step two?
Reconnect with authenticity.
When you’re ready, send an email that:
- Acknowledges the gap (not with an overload of excuses, but with transparency)
- Lets them know you’ve missed connecting with them
- Shares a snippet of what’s been going on behind the scenes
And, of course, leaves them feeling valued (like giving them an awesome tip, coupon, or free resource).
The thing is, your audience is human, too!
They understand what it’s like to be busy, and they appreciate honesty.
So, yes, it’s nice to acknowledge that you’ve been MIA…
But you don’t need to go overboard with the apologies, or worry too much about whether it’s been too long to start the conversation back up again.
The most important thing is that you DO start…
And when you do, you’re genuine, engaging, and committed to delivering value.
Now, if you’ve been hanging around here long enough, you probably know what I’m going to say next, which is:
Block off time on your calendar ASAP to write that first “I’m back” email.
(If it’s on your calendar, there’s a better chance of it getting done!)
So get your game face on and dive back in — your audience is waiting for you.
Make it an amazing day,
Alicia
