Delegate It Or Delete It.

That’s the start of one of my FAVORITE quotes.

“There is nothing so useless as doing
efficiently that which should not be done at all.” – Peter Drucker

One of the things I used to struggle with in my business is my PAGES of to-do lists.

They seemed to never end.

After a hard look at my list, I realized I was doing a lot of “stuff” that wasn’t moving my business forward.cf

It was just junk that would clog up my day.

I was filling my day with it, and was pushing back projects that could take my business to another level.

Then, one day I made a promise to myself that I was going to STOP.

Since I focus better in the morning, I decided to stop teaching my early classes so I can free up that time to do project work.

I didn’t allow myself to check emails, but instead blocked off 2-3 hours EVERY morning to work on the projects that I had been putting off.

Magically, I got them done- and magically, my business was all of a sudden moving forward.

I learned 2 very valuable lessons:

1. Always focus on the projects/tasks that will move your business forward- and get these done FIRST.

2. What you put on your to-do list takes up valuable brain space. Guard it carefully.

I had a bunch of tasks that had no business even being on my to-do list.

I either deleted or delegated them.

My challenge to YOU this Monday is to take a hard look at your to-do List.

What are the 1-2 most important tasks or projects that you’ve been putting off that could take your business to another level?

First, block off time to work on them over the next 7-10 days.

Break it up into chunks so it doesn’t get overwhelming.

Then, go through your to-do list and delete or delegate the “stuff” that you know shouldn’t really be on your list.

Make it a productive day!
