3 Tips For Painless Content Batching

As a health and fitness coach, you know the value in prepping your meals…

Laying out your gym clothes the night before…

And have healthy snacks ready to go, so you don’t get too hungry and binge later on.

So why not take the same approach with your content?

I know the term “content batching” gets thrown around a lot, and I know it sounds like sitting down for hours at a time to gruel away on your computer…

But that’s the hardest way to do it!

Instead, here’s what I recommend:

  1. Pick one type of content to batch at a time. Instead of sitting down to finish ALL your content all at once, just choose one type of content to batch like email, social posts, video, or group posts.Switching back and forth can be mentally exhausting! When you’re focused on ONE type of task, your creativity has enough space to shine through.
  2. Don’t batch too far ahead. Not what you were expecting, right? But batching TOO far ahead doesn’t leave you any room to respond to what your audience wants or shift gears when certain messaging or content just aren’t landing. We batch our content about 4-6 weeks in advance, which gives us enough space to feel ahead — but also gives us wiggle room to address timely subjects and course-correct when certain content just isn’t working.
  3. Put it on your calendar. Just like you might tell a client to block off time on their calendar for meal prep, the BEST way to make sure content batching gets done is to move it from your “to-do” list —> to your calendar. No, it’s not always fun to do (just like standing at your kitchen counter slicing onions for 5 days worth of meals isn’t always fun) — but the payoff is that you always have content ready to go, which means you’re always growing your business!

If this still feels like too much, start with batching just 1-2 weeks ahead! That should help you feel like you’re on top of things, but not be too overwhelming so that you’re spending a full day on content (unless you want to).

Hope this was helpful!

Make it an amazing day,

Alicia
