Hack Your Productivity By 30%

I just got back from a REDICUOUSLY awesome 4 days at Brendon Burchard’s High Performance Academy.

Carrie and I went and had some incredible breakthroughs for our life and our businesses.

I was completely shocked to learn that…

Checking your email first thing in the morning will LOWER your Productivity by 30%.

Your email is nothing more than a list of tasks of what other people have planned for your day.

Checking email first thing not only throws you off your schedule because you start working on clearing your email and tasks associated with them…

But it puts you into a state of OVERWHELM, where you become 30% LESS PRODUCTIVE.

Imagine what you could do with an extra 30% of your work day?

Checking your email in the morning is literally ROBBING you of your time and delaying the vision and mission you have for your business and life.

Here’s what I did to break the habit…

  1. I REMOVED my email account from my phone. (I use my phone as my alarm and get tempted to glance at my email when I wake up!)
  2. I even removed Facebook from my phone. (nothing like FB to distract you from your task at hand.)
  3. I have a scheduled time block from 12-1 to check and answer all emails.  (And have COMMITTED to not opening up my inbox before that (unless there is something urgent I am waiting for.)

(The only exception is if YOU are still doing all of the customer service for your business. Then, it’s obviously important to make sure you’re checking email in the morning. HOWEVER- it should never be done first thing when you wake up- and you should have a designated time block for it.)

DON’T spend your day living other people’s agenda for your life.

Protect and guard your time like your life and business depends on it…because it DOES.

I’m challenging YOU to take on this challenge and not check your email first thing in the morning.

Are you IN for this challenge with me!?

Leave a comment below if you’re game and willing to make a shift in the way you think and get your 30% back.

Make it a productive day!

Alicia 🙂
