The 12 Week Year

12191055_626036557534511_3193190478329110703_nSo I’m reading a book called The 12-Week Year by Brian Moran.

The premise is that you 4x your productivity by only focusing on the highest leverage tasks to get more done in 12 weeks than you do in an entire year.

I’m going to finish this book up today and then officially start my own “12 Week Year” on Monday Nov 14th.

If you haven’t read it, it’s definitely worth adding it to your book list.

Aside from the productivity and high performance strategies, Brian mentions something pretty important.

“The athlete becomes great not when she breaks a world record and wins a medal. That’s when the world recognizes her, but in reality the event is just evidence of her greatness.

The athlete achieved greatness months, perhaps years, earlier, when she decided to run the extra mile, swim the extra lap, or perform just one more jump…

Results are not the attainment of greatness, but simply confirmation of it. You become great long before the results show it. It happens in an instant, the moment you choose to do the things you need to do to be great.”

In sports, in business, in life..the second you make a decision to commit to the process- especially when you don’t feel like it, you’re winning.

Done consistently over time, it leads to massive results.

The difference between greatness and mediocrity for a fitness pro may be 3 extra consultations per week, making 5 extra phone calls, or sending a card in the mail to a client to let them know how amazing they’ve been doing.

But these tasks can’t just be done once- it has to be done CONSISTENTLY.

I’m challenging you today to commit to finishing out 2015 with greatness.

Pick 1-3 things you’re going to commit to doing each week until the end of the year that will level-up the game for you.

Here are 9 tactics you can practice EVERY WEEK to level-up for the remainder of 2015: (remember- just pick 1-3 of them, or create your own! These are just a guide)

  • Call 5-10 new prospects each week
  • Send 3 appreciation cards in the mail to clients each week
  • Reach out to 5 past clients each week
  • Time Block the upcoming week
  • Allot 60 minutes per day to work ON your business each week
  • Allot 60 minutes per day to complete 1 new system each week
  • Personally text 5 clients each week with an empowering text
  • Create a relationship with 1 new business each week
  • Do something special each week to recognize one of your team members

Go that extra mile, make that extra phone call, and send that extra card.

We’ve only got 8 weeks left in 2015.

Let’s step it up, maximize our impact, and commit to excellence for the last 8 weeks of 2015.

Live today with Intention,

Alicia
