I’m back in Orlando today because the main water line at the beach was still being worked on yesterday!
Good news is that I have great coffee and fast internet here 🙂
Pay close attention to this email…..
Last week, I asked everyone in my FB group to share their favorite quote – and I got a LOT of great ones!
Here are few I loved….but in a sec I’m also going to share one I STRONGLY DISAGREE with.
“The ultimate reason for setting goals is to entice you to become the person it takes to achieve them.” – Rohn
“Action expresses priorities.” – Gandhi
“Perfection is not profitable” – Walsh
My husband even chimed in with this one: “I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass…and I’m all out of bubble gum”
Those are some good ones, right!?
But here’s one that made me do a double take…
—> “Everything worthwhile is uphill all the way.”
Now…I’m a HUGE believer that the words you use MATTER.
What you say and what you think about mean something.
If you think success is hard…it WILL be hard.
If you say “The struggle is real” – you’ll be focused on the STRUGGLE and not the solution.
If you say “I’m frustrated with landing pages” – then your brain searches for things to be frustrated with instead of seeing the better way to do things.
If you say “I’m just not that great at expressing myself and I get in my own head”…. guess what will happen when you’re speaking.
These are things I hear people say all of the time (and trust me this is something I’m still working on myself!)
In fact, just a couple of weeks ago, I was at my meditation class and I mentioned to my teacher that my neck was hurting me.
She tilted her head and gave me a serious look, and said…. “shift those words to say my neck is in the process of healing itself.”
Whoa.
Most of us do this all the time without even realizing it.
Our clients do it, too.
This completely aligns with the famous quote: “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t…you’re right.” – Ford.
What you think about becomes reality…because that is what you’re focusing on and drawing more of into your life.
SO instead of saying “everything worthwhile is uphill all the way”….. say something that empowers you that makes you feel excited about your journey!
Instead of saying “the struggle is real” … say something like “life is an adventure and I want to see what I’m capable of”
Instead of saying “I hate building landing pages and it frustrates the hell out of me”….say something like “I’m getting better and better every time I build a landing page. I learn something new every time and soon I’ll be able to whip up a page in no time.”
Practice this every day and bring awareness to how you speak out loud and to yourself…and watch your life change.
What do you think?! Do you agree, disagree with me!?
