Tracking numbers is a key part of working with your clients, am I right!?
Regardless if it’s not the most favorite part of your business, these things MUST get done if you’re going to take it to the next level.
You probably track your clients’ progress many different ways – their weight, measurements, body fat %, and their performance.
Maybe you take pictures, or you have them send you photo journals of their meals.
Without that info, how would you REALLY KNOW if things are working?
You wouldn’t! This is the data that helps you uncover what the underlying issue is and what needs to be addressed.
Tracking a few key numbers is just as important when it comes to your business!
In fact, there’s a list of nitty-gritty numbers that I believe you NEED to know in order to see what’s working and what’s not.
What you don’t measure, you can’t improve.
KPI’S stand for: Key Performance Indicators.
KPIs are the pulse of your business … they measure your business’s growth and health!
And if you’re not already, it’s time to start tracking your number of (at a minimum):
- Email List Subscribers
- Leads Generated
- Set / Show / Close
- # New Clients
- Clients Lost
- Clients on Hold
- Total Members
And, you also need to stay on top of your:
- Revenue
- Expenses
- Profit (profit = revenue – expenses)
- Profit Margin (margin = ((profit/revenue) x 100)
These are the absolute bare minimum I believe you NEED to be tracking.
However there are many other KPI’s to track… including client retention & attrition, lifetime client value, performance of team members, or even how different front-end offers convert to long-term clients.
If you’re just starting out, it can be easy to think you don’t need to track this info because you can keep it all in your head.
I’m here to tell you that there couldn’t be a BETTER time to start tracking!
Knowing your numbers gives you incredible power.
There’s no guessing about what is working or what isn’t … it’s all right there in black and white!
And just as it is motivating for your clients to see THEIR numbers improve, seeing your own numbers grow can be incredibly inspiring for YOU!
Tracking your numbers doesn’t have to be an elaborate process. You can do all of this on paper or on a program like Google Sheets.
I like to keep it simple. I’ve got a basic Google Sheet where I track all of my own numbers.
The easier it is for you to keep track, the more likely you are to do it!
Think about where you’re at in your business and what numbers YOU are monitoring.
Do you have room for improvement in this area?
If you do, don’t just nod your head… block off 20 minutes and create a quick spreadsheet for your KPI’s! (said with nothing but love!)
Then, set an alarm on your phone for the same time every week or night to remind you to update your #’s. 🙂

THIS is how you begin to create change.
Put your knowledge into action 🙂
Make it a productive day!!
