So the other day, I dropped the news that I lost my entire content team back in December.
There I was… back to 90+ hour weeks, fully in the business again.
Then I got bronchitis. For six weeks.
And then a bunch of personal stuff happened (which I’m not going to get into).
So basically, 2025 has been off to a stellar start
It was almost like someone was trying to send me a message that I just wasn’t getting…
So I had to keep getting smacked over the head with it until I finally listened.
(More on that later this week.)
Back to me jumping into 90+ hour weeks…
If I told you what happened with my team, you wouldn’t even believe me.
The “people” side of your business can be one of the most liberating…
but also one of the most “want-to-bash-your-head-through-a-wall” experiences of a lifetime.
Just being honest and saying the stuff most coaches don’t want to talk about.
If you’ve been in business for any amount of time, you probably already know this is true.
All the hours behind my computer started to take a heavy toll…
and I got burnt out.
As in… didn’t want to work. Questioning if it was all worth it.
This isn’t me talking about something that happened a decade ago… and “look how awesome my life is now” story…
This JUST happened in the last few months.
We ALL go through it sometimes…
And I want you to know this happens at every level.
I struggled with direction, with my vision, with my team, and with my own drive.
But I kept putting one foot in front of the other.
And my team (Adrienne & Beth stepped up BIG TIME) to keep the business running smoothly, while I worked on content and figured things out.
While I’m finally on the other side (and am now more fired up than ever about what’s next )…
I had to learn — and relearn — quite a few lessons along the way.
And that’s what I want to share with YOU.
I’ve had problems in the past not making the most of my challenges….
where I’d just put my head down, power through, and solve problems….
Until one of my coaches (Taylor Welch) asked me a powerful question:
“What would I tell one of my clients to do in this SAME situation, to help them avoid going through this same struggle & pain?”
That question is the inspiration for this tiny series that I’m about to write…
Because if I can help you avoid even one of these same things, I’ll know this season served an even greater purpose.
So stay tuned…
There’s a lot of fun stuff coming your way
And thanks again for sticking with me, even though I haven’t been super “front-facing” lately. I appreciate you more than you know.
Make it an amazing day,
Alicia
P.S. There’s your first actionable lesson…
Lesson #1: Try reframing your challenges as something you can teach someone else.
For me, it’s easier to reflect and uncover the lesson when I’m thinking about how it might help someone else avoid the same struggle.
Funny enough—it usually ends up helping both of us.
