I’m reading a book called You2 which talks about how to take a massive, quantum leap in your life instead of smaller, incremental gains.
It starts off with a really cool story about a fly that was determined to fly through a glass window. Freedom was JUST on the other side of the glass.
He could see it, he could taste it….. it was right there in front of him.
He just couldn’t reach it.
The little fly tried SO hard to get through the glass and was giving it everything he had.
What he didn’t realize, was that there was an open door about 10 feet away.
Had the fly just turned around and flown about 10 feet, he would have been free with a LOT less effort and energy.
The poor little fly would die on that window sill, having tried his absolute best.
The point is, it’s not always about trying harder.
Sure you need a solid work ethic to achieve success, but you want to be working on the RIGHT things and spending your time on tasks that will create leverage and help you take that “quantum leap.”
Take a hard look at what YOU are doing right now.
What are you doing on a regular basis that is not getting the results that you want?
What habitual thoughts do you have that could be shifted?
What can you look at differently, in a new light, to help you make a 2x or 3x or 10x leap, instead of a smaller, more commonplace gain.
I challenge you today and this weekend to take those questions to heart and to really think about the answers.
Spending the time to do this could change EVERYTHING for you.
