5-Steps to Optimize Your Instagram Bio for More Sales

Last week I mentioned that I’m working with an IG coach who has over 1.4 MILLION followers

so am getting alllll of the secret inside tips and tricks.

And today is when I start spilling the beans and sharing them with YOU.

You’re getting the best of both worlds…

Because not only are you going to be learning “what’s working right now” on IG…

I’m going to give you the behind-the-scenes on exactly what’s working right now for YOU as a fitness or health coach.

I should probably charge for this series, but didn’t want to.

First, make sure you’re following me over here, so you can see all the live updates in real time.

Ready to get started!?

Here’s how to optimize your bio to attract more ideal prospects AND get more sales…

Let’s break it down:

  • Username: Key for SEO. ****Don’t get cute with it! Use your name or business name.
  • Tagline: Put strong keywords in your tagline. The reason there’s an * is because I don’t want you modeling after mine above. You NEED to have a keyword next to your name/biz. (I have to wait 10 days before I can change mine (you can only change it 2x every 14 days)— but my new tagline will be: “Alicia Streger | Business Coach for Fitness & Health Coaches”)
  • How do you find keywords? Start by checking out the top creators in your niche and study the words they’re using in their bio.
  •  Examples:
    • Your Name | Youth Strength & Conditioning Coach
    • Your Name | Fat Loss Coach for Busy Dads
    • Your Name | Women’s 40+ Transformation Coach
    • Your Name | IBS & FODMAP Nutritionist
    • Biz Name | #1 Fitness & Transformation Gym in Orlando

  • Profile Pic:
    • Use your favorite headshot
    • Blur your background or remove it and use a bright brand color
    • I used Canva to make mine. I also used a gradient in the blue circle to make it lighter towards the center. Let me know if you need a quick tutorial.
  • Bio:
    • add an emoji at the front of each line to make it pop (except the last line— you’ll see why)
    • Line 1: Your “I help” statement. Add 1-2 keywords.
      • I help busy dads lose 20+ pounds of body fat in 90 days or less
      • Helping new moms lose baby weight & feel energized in 12 weeks
      • I help women reduce bloat & break free from IBS with personalized plans in 10 weeks
    • Line 2, Option A: “Without” statement OR benefit to working with you
      • Without restrictive dieting or endless cardio
      • Burn Fat in ONLY 30 minutes!
    • Line 2, Option B: What to expect if they follow you
      • Daily fat loss & nutrition tips
    • Line 2, Option C: DM me
      • DM me “MACROS” for info
      • DM “TRANSFORM” to learn more
    • Line 3: Social Proof / Credibility (optional)
      • 163+ lives changed
      • *notice the # is VERY specific in my bio
    • Line 4*: Call to action
      • Apply to work with me
      • [FLASH SALE] 21-Day Summer Slimdown Challenge
      • FREE fat-loss masterclass
      • Book your first class FREE ⬇
      • Start here
  • Link:
    • no more link tree
    • ONE link in your bio only (strongly recommended)
    • can go straight to your:
      • application
      • mini-sales page (for low ticket)
      • lead magnet (as long as you have a plan to convert. Don’t use this just as a list-build)
      • specific landing page (NOT your website)

Oh, and something to keep in mind…

Your bio can only be 150 characters long, so make every word count!

Hope this gives you a few ideas in case your Instagram bio needs a makeover.

What’s next?!

Get to work and update your bio!

If you do the work….

Send me your updated bio for a chance to get a review!

Here’s how it works:

1️⃣ Step 1: Update your bio

2️⃣ Step 2: Email me with a link to your IG profile

If I pick yours, I’ll review it and email you to let you know when it’s live on my page!

Oh, and if you found today’s email helpful, hit reply and let me know…

Because if it was, I’ll create even more content like this for you. 🙂

Alicia
