Delegation Rule #2

LOVED all of your emails that I got a couple days ago when I wrote about my first rule for delegation.

If you missed it, click here. Don’t go through the next part of this series until you’ve read Rule #1.

Delegation is one of the most important things you can learn how to do effectively as a business owner.

Your sanity, level of impact, financial freedom, lifestyle freedom… (and did I say sanity?) depends on your ability to delegate effectively.

Missed deadlines, poor quality of work, chaos, confusion, and frustration are usually the end-result if you don’t do it right.

So are you ready to put an END to this madness!?! Let’s do this.

Delegation Rule #2: GET CLEAR.

Well this is an obvious one…. but one that most people SKIP.

Instead of “Ready, Aim, Fire”…. or even “Ready, Fire, Aim”… they just FIRE…. and then wonder why they fall short.

So what’s that smell????

That’s the smell of your MONEY BURNING when you don’t delegate properly….

and I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t have money to burn!

The good news is that it’s easily fixable with a few simple steps.

Most business owners themselves are overwhelmed and missing deadlines. It’s not because of a lack of ambition, passion, or drive.

It’s simply a lack of CLARITY.

If you want someone to complete a task for you, you have to first know exactly what that looks like and what the end result will be.

If you don’t have a clear expectation and plan… they are simply going to do the best they can with the information they have.

They don’t know any better because you haven’t properly trained and educated them on what that looks like to you.

So step #2 is to get CLEAR on exactly what you want.

Let’s take one of the examples we used from Part 1:

“You asked your coach to get “before and after measurements” for your challenge, but when you go to analyze the results, you realize a handful of pictures and measurements were never collected and now it’s TOO LATE.”

Getting “CLEAR” is way more than “taking before measurements” and “after measurements.”

Getting clear means asking yourself questions like these:

The “WHY”:

WHY do we need to be getting measurements in the first place?
WHY is this necessary or important for our clients or growth of our business?
WHY will this add value to our clients?
WHY does this help us add value to our business?

The “HOW”:

HOW much time is required for all of your clients to be measured properly?
HOW exactly will measurements be taken?
HOW often do we need to get measurements?
HOW will we make this process as streamlined and efficient as possible?
HOW will we track all of the measurements simply and effectively?
HOW will we ensure that all of our clients get their before measurements?
HOW will we ensure that all of our clients get their after measurements?
HOW will we ensure that our team is properly trained to take measurements and feel confident performing this task?

The “WHEN”:

WHEN will our clients be getting measured?
WHEN are the specific measurement deadlines?
WHEN will we follow-up in case a client misses their “before measurement”?
WHEN will we follow-up in case a client misses their “after measurement”?

The “WHO”:

WHO on the team is best suited for this task?
WHO has the skill set required for taking measurements?
WHO has the time to be able to complete this task effectively?

The “WHAT”:

WHAT training / education is required for this person to be able to complete this task effectively?
WHAT else can we do to make this process simple and streamlined?
WHAT other considerations do I need to think about to make sure this rolls out properly?

See what I mean when I talk about getting “clear” about what you want?

Not only will you be able to roll out your measurements plan smoothly and effectively….

But it’s also LOT easier to get buy in from your team AND clients on how important measurements are….and the odds your measurements will be performed properly will improve massively!

Sure, this take a little extra work up front…. but once you’ve got it done, you just “refine & tweak” as you go.

Voilà!

THIS is the beginning of what building systems are all about.

To me, creating systems in your business is one of the most IMPORTANT things you can ever do.

That’s also why my coaching program is DEDICATED to helping fitness pros create and implement systems into their business.

If you need help with this, you can learn more about the program right here: Fit Pro Accelerator <—-

I hope Rule #2 helps you to “get clear” on delegation!

Excited to share more of my rules, tips, and strategies with you over the next few days!
Alicia 🙂

P.S. No need to go at it alone…. and also there’s no need to have to reinvent the wheel. If you’re looking to increase revenue AND still be able to spend quality time with your family and friends… then that is what my coaching program is all about.

One of my favorite things is getting an email from one of my clients letting me know they were able to go on vacation with their family for the first time in years because everything in their business is under control. Best feeling in the world. If this sounds like something you need, schedule a call with me here.
