10x Gold

Let’s talk about 10x, baby!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend Grant Cardone’s 10x event in Miami. I go to conferences and events all of the time, and I have to say I was IMPRESSED.

The quality of the speakers was unbelievable, and I came back FIRED UP. I spent a lot of time this week reflecting on what I learned and how I’m going to apply it to my life.

As John Maxwell always says…

“Experience is only a great teacher if you take the time to pause and reflect on it. Otherwise, you take the test but the lesson never comes.”

Here are some of the biggest takeaways and one-liners that made an impact on me during the event:

Grant Cardone

“10x is creating a business that scales until you’re able to BUILD A LIFE WITHOUT LIMITATIONS.” – said 61-year-old Grant right after he skydived into the Marlins Stadium with his 10x parachute, after filling the arena up with 35,000 attendees.

You truly CAN create anything you want as long as you have a dream and go after what you want.

– Every piece of content he creates, he repurposes it at LEAST 5 times.
– Facebook is NOT for friends, it’s for BUSINESS.
– Instagram is NOT for friends, it’s for business.
– Best known beats the best EVERY time.

Sara Blakely

Still owning 100% of her company Spanx, Sara became a billionaire at age 41 and dedicates her life to empowering women to live their best lives. She’s a freaking rockstar. Her motto?

“The more experiences you have in life, the more you have to offer others.”

I also love her association with failure: “Failure is NOT about the outcome, it’s about not trying.”

Tai Lopez

Not going to lie- I was turned off by Tai. He started off strong and then ripped people apart on the stage in front of thousands of people when going through their websites. I just didn’t vibe at all with his coaching style or personality. Is it effective? Probably, but just not my style.

But… as mentioned by Ryan Deiss during the conference, you don’t have to “like” someone to learn from them. IN fact, “Your learning is LIMITED if you only learn from people you like.”

So.. here’s my biggest 1-liner from Tai: “You get paid in proportion to the DIFFICULTY of the problems you solve.”

He also said that if you’re selling any product online, you should have 7 bonuses to maximize sales 🙂

Daymond John

Poverty of the mind is permanent…. but being broke is temporary.

There are only 2 kinds of people in this world:
1- Sharks
2- Those who don’t realize they are a shark.

John Maxwell
(one of my all-time favorite leaders and authors- was an honor just to hear him speak!)

Change your question from: “How long will it take?” —-> “How far can I go?”

A growth environment is where failure becomes your best friend.

You don’t GO to a dream, you GROW to a dream.

The “Rule of 5” and why you should “swing that axe” 5 times every day (Click here for the details- it’s even our challenge of the week over in the FBFF Group)

Ryan Deiss

Email is NOT dead. When Facebook wants to contact you…. they EMAIL YOU!

Bethenny Frankel
(probably the MOST impactful speaker at the event in my opinion)

You’ll keep making the same mistake until you actually learn the lesson. If you’re getting the same results in your life and in your business… CHANGE SOMETHING!

– Only do something if it’s inspiring, is a game-changer, or makes you a lot of money.

It’s your OBLIGATION to get your message out to the world. It’s not about you. It’s about who you hurt if you don’t show up.

Steve Harvey also got up and KILLED it on stage. He’s hilarious, and he uses his gift (comedy) to connect with others and inspire them. Whatever your GIFT is… use THAT.

He also has his vision board as the background on his phone, so he sees it every single time he picks up his phone.

I hope sharing some of these takeaways inspires you to do something GREAT today.

I’ll definitely be at this event next year… and I hope to see you there!
